Eminem appeared via phone on MTV’s finale for “Total Request Live” Sunday. Although Carson Daily tried to push for details on his new album, Eminem stayed pretty quiet. The Detroit rapper did confirm the album was titled “Relapse” saying he had recorded “over 100” songs for it. Stating that he was currently in the studio in Detroit, Eminem said the album would be coming out “sometime in the 1st quarter of next year.” Previous reports had Eminem’s new album hitting stores in December.
In related news, Eminem recently released a new book called “The Way I Am” [buy it now].
The new book includes a collection of personal stories, reflections,
photographs, original artwork, and never before published lyric sheets.
In the first printing of the book, a bonus DVD is included containing
personally shot video footage from Eminem and unreleased interviews.
Eminem is finally giving details on his new album "Relapse." The Detroit rapper says "Me andDre are back in the lab like the old days, man" continuing "Dre will end up producing the majority of the tracks on Relapse.' We are up to our old mischievous ways ... let's just leave it at that."
Eminem talked about a recently leaked track [listen here] saying he was "really heated. It wasn't close to finished, and it even has me doing guide vocals for Dre as a suggestion of how he could lay his verses down. It's like someone catches you peeping in your window before you got the Spider Man costume all zipped up! Nobody is supposed to see that. We are gonna finish it up though and get it out there how it's supposed to be."
Swizz Beatz recently came forward to say he had worked with Eminem and hinted there would be a 2nd "Stan" but Eminem says "I haven't worked with Swizz on this album. There isn't a 'Stan 2,' and there won't be," he says. "Stan drove his car off a bridge and I'm not writing a song as Stan's ghost. That would just be really corny."
Eminem continued in the BillBoard interview discussing his new book "The Way I Am," theShady Records future (confirming 50 Cent's album will hit stores in February), and finished by saying Ca$his will then release his new album saying "People are going to be surprised what he is capable of. I produced a bunch of records on there as well."

Los Angeles (E! Online) – Eminem's done the rehab. Now it's time for the Relapse.
During an interview last night on his Sirius Satellite Radio channel, Shade 45, Eminem announced his forthcoming sixth album would be titled Relapse and include the track "I'm Having a Relapse."
While the rap superstar stopped short of announcing a release date, he has previously indicated it will drop by year's end, likely before pal 50 Cent's Before I Self Destruct on Dec. 9.
The Shade 45 interview, hosted by DJ Kayslay and Angela Yee, was part of an on-air party for Eminem's new book, The Way I Am, which goes on sale next Tuesday.
The new album, whose working titles reportedly included King Mathers and Em-Pact, is rumored to include collaborations with 50 Cent, DMX, Obie Trice and Cashis, among others. In a recent interview, current chart-topper T.I. said he also recorded a track with Em that included both artists' alter egos, T.I.'s dark side, T.I.P., and Em's Slim Shady.
Eminem's last studio album, Encore, came out four years ago, followed by the compilation Curtain Call: The Hits in 2005. Curtain Call, originally titled The Funeral, per early rumors, marked the start of Eminem's supposed retirement as a recording artist. But whispers of a comeback began just months later, when Eminem collaborated with Akon on the 2006 Grammy-nominated hit "Smack That."
Said Akon at the time, "Eminem told me he was...

Tupac Amaru Shakur (June 16, 1971 — September 13, 1996), also known by his stage names 2Pac and Makaveli, was an American rapper. In addition to his status as a top-selling recording artist, Shakur was a successful film actor and a prominent social activist. He is recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records as the highest-selling hip hop artist, with over seventy five million albums sold worldwide, including over fifty million in the United States.[2] Most of Shakur's songs are about growing up amid violence and hardship in ghettos, racism, problems in society and conflicts with other rappers. Shakur's work is known for advocating political, economic, social and racial equality, as well as his raw descriptions of violence, drug and alcohol abuse and conflicts with the law.
Shakur was initially a roadie and backup dancer for the alternative hip hop group Digital Underground.[3][4] Shakur's debut album, 2Pacalypse Now, gained critical recognition and backlash for its controversial lyrics. Shakur became the target of lawsuits and experienced other legal problems. Later, he was shot five times and robbed in the lobby of a recording studio in New York City. Following the event, Shakur grew suspicious that other figures in the rap industry had prior knowledge of the incident and did not warn him; the controversy helped spark the East Coast-West Coast hip hop rivalry. After serving eleven months of his sentence for sexual abuse, Shakur was released from prison on an appeal financed by Marion "Suge" Knight, the CEO of Death Row Records. In exchange for Suge's assistance, Shakur agreed to release three albums under the Death Row label.
On September 7, 1996, Shakur was shot four times in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, and died six days later of respiratory failure and cardiac arrest at the University Medical Center

DeShaun Dupree Holton (October 2, 1973 – April 11, 2006), better known as Proof, was a Detroit rapper and member of the rap groups D12 and 5 Elementz, and was a member of the original Goon Sqwad.
Contents[hide] |
Although Proof first rose to national prominence as a part of the rap group D12, he had been fairly successful on his own. Most notably, he was featured in The Source's Unsigned Hype column in 1999 and came close to winning the 1998 Blaze Battle. His first television appearance can be seen in the Aaliyah video "Age Ain't Nothing But a Number" he is visible at 2:09. In 2000, Proof toured along with Eminem, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg in the Up In Smoke Tour as a hype man rapper for Eminem. He rose to prominence in 2001 with the release of Devil's Night, D12's debut album with Interscope Records. The following year, Proof collaborated with Dogmatic on Promatic and joined Eminem's "Anger Management" tour in support of the release.[1] He also appeared in Eminem's semi-autobiographical film 8 Mile; although in the film the character based on him, Future, was portrayed by Mekhi Phifer, he appeared as Lil' Tic, a freestyle rapper who trounces the lead character with his battle verse.[2]
To capitalize on the publicity from the film, Proof released a six-song EP called Electric CoolAid: Acid Testing.[3] Proof also had a cameo alongside the rest of an Eminem-less D12 in The Longest Yard appearing as "Basketball Convicts" in the credits.
Proof released a solo effort featuring collaborations with Eminem, 50 Cent, Method Man, Nate Dogg, B-Real of Cypress Hill, T3 of Slum Village, Obie Trice, Royce Da 5'9" and other members of D12 on his own Iron Fist Records label in conjunction with Alliance Entertainment's IDN Distribution. Proof said that he did not produce the record with Shady Records or Aftermath because he wanted to "build his own thing". Many of his "catchy" beats, like "Many Men", can be seen in other rappers songs. Called Searching for Jerry Garcia, the album was released on August 9, 2005 on his own Iron Fist Records label 10 years to the day following Grateful Dead frontman Jerry Garcia's death.[4] This release did not make a significant impact on the charts despite its list of guest appearances and Proof's well known lyrical flow.
Originally, every song title on the album was to be named after a celebrity. "Jump Biatch" was originally titled "Eric Clapton Jr." (Proof changed the title when he realized that Eric Clapton's son fell to his death from a 53rd-story window.[5]) Another song presumably meant for the album was "Neil Armstrong", which can be found on Proof's mixtape "I Miss The Hip Hop Shop".
Proof has said that he considered Jerry Garcia to be a "genius" who suffered from character flaws that are indicative of all people. Proof has stated his admiration for Garcia's eclectic style, saying that Garcia "went against the grain".[6] The album received favorable reviews, which commented on its "eclectic" and "introspective" nature.[7]
Proof stated how he wanted to be remembered in an interview with SOHH.com shortly after his album release; 'I want people to say that I was a true artist', ' That I did it best and stayed true to Hip Hop roots' and 'I'd want people to understand I did it for the love not for the charts.' [8]

On April 11, 2006, Proof was killed by a gunshot wound to the head at the CCC Club by Mario Etheridge on 8 Mile Road in Detroit, Michigan after allegedly fatally shooting U.S. military veteran Keith Bender Jr.
It is also believed that following a dispute over a pool game, Proof fired the first shots into Bender's head after taking his pistol and striking Bender several times in the face. According to the coroner, Proof had a blood alcohol content of 0.32%.[9] Proof was then shot by the bouncer Mario Etheridge, Bender's cousin. He was then taken by private vehicle to St. John Health's Conner Creek Campus, an outpatient emergency treatment site, and pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Bender's family began a wrongful-death suit against Proof's estate.
An XXL article [10] that interviews Mudd (a friend of Proof who allegedly witnessed the shooting) offers an alternative viewpoint to the media reports.
The family of Keith Bender, who died several days later, sought legal advice to sue Proof's estate for damages that were a result of Proof's actions.[11]

"Business" is a song by the rapper Eminem, released in 2003 as a single internationally, except in the U.S.. It was from his worldwide hit album, The Eminem Show, which was released in 2002. In the song, Eminem talks about him and Dr. Dre working together like Batman & Robin (as suggested in the music video for "Without Me") in the "rap mobile," to set the hip hop music world straight. It features Dre's trademark "hell yeah" shout.
There is a line in this song that describes himself and Dr. Dre as "the most feared duet since me and Elton played career Russian Roulette", referring to Eminem performing "Stan" at the Grammy Awards of 2001.
Another line rhymes, "How can shit be so easy? / How can one Chandra be so Levy?" This line is in reference to then-missing D.C. intern Chandra Levy, whose remains were found in a D.C. park only four days before The Eminem Show's U.S. release. The chorus mocks Insane Clown Posse: "Must be a circus in town/let's shut the shit down on these clowns/can I get a witness?".
There is no official music video for this song, so music video channels usually play live versions of the song instead.

"Stan" is a fictional story of a fan who is obsessed with Eminem and writes to him but doesn't receive a reply. The first three verses are delivered by Stan, while the fourth verse is Eminem responding to Stan, only to realize that he has heard about Stan's death on the news as he was writing to him.
